Saturday, October 17, is International Archaeology Day!
Join us on Saturday, October 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre (Lower South Lot 2) for a free, family-friendly celebration of archaeology, history, and culture. Hosted by Community Connections LLC in partnership with Colorado Preservation, Inc., the event brings together more than 30 exhibitors, hands-on activities, cultural demonstrations, and interactive learning opportunities for all ages. September Lecture Rescheduled
Unfortunately, owing to unforeseen circumstances, the September ESS meeting had to be canceled. Dennis Pricolo's fascinating lecture, "Merneptah Smites the Libyans" will be featured as our February 2027 lecture.


Exciting News from Egypt!
There have been two recent news items that should be of great interest to those who follow Egyptology:

The Egyptian Study Society (ESS) is a Denver-based, non-profit organization dedicated to fostering interest in ancient Egyptian civilization and furthering in-depth studies into Egyptian art, culture, and history. The Egyptian Study Society brings in world-renowned speakers, as well as local ESS members, to present monthly lectures on various aspects of ancient Egypt and its culture. ESS members include both professional Egyptologists and archaeologists working and traveling in Egypt, as well as anyone interested in the culture of ancient Egypt.

It is the mission of the Egyptian Study Society, Inc. to provide educational programs to its members and to the general public relevant to the culture and history of ancient Egypt, to promote cultural understanding of the heritage of the ancient Near East, and to promote interest in the study of Egyptology to the Colorado community.
